Baking Day


Today was my last day of break from school and a chance to do some baking.
I've been wanting to make homemade pretzels for some time, but it seems the timing was never quite right. Today I was determined to give it a try. I used this recipe for Bread Machine Soft Pretzels. I made them just as the recipe instructed using my bread machine to mix the dough. I was so impressed with how easy it was to do the knots. I guess I surprised myself.
Since it is the second Tuesday of the month, it is another Pie for Deacons night. I used this recipe for Caramel Apple Pie as my starting point. I followed the suggestion of reviewers and increased the amount of flour to 4 tablespoons, and I just used caramel dip instead of the caramels for more even melting.
