Family Ties

The holidays are made for family get togethers. Ours happened to be well after Christmas, so instead of going with traditional holiday foods, I just picked a theme and went with it. This time I did a Mexican theme that included these Oven Tacos, this beef for tacos, and these Churro Cheesecake Bars.

The hit of the night was this Coconut Tres Leches Cake. It was absolutely delicious. Perfectly coconutty without being too much. Even after sitting in the refrigerator for over 24 hours, not all of the milk mixture had soaked in, so be mindful that that may happen. I also definitely had to use the trick of warming up the cake to get it out of the bundt pan. The raspberries were fantastic with the cake, a perfect foil to the coconut, milk, and lime flavors.

Definitely don't sleep on this recipe. It's super easy, and it is SO good.
