Quarantine Baking - Part 3

We were close to finishing our previous round of baking, so it was time for more time in the kitchen to while away our quarantine confinement. This is technically no bake, but things were beaten, stirred, chopped, and layered, so today's it's baking.

These No Bake Kit Kat Bars seemed like a good choice. The kiddo is a huge fan of Kit Kats, and once again we wanted to make something quick. Can I also say how much I enjoy scrounging for the ingredients in a world where we don't go to the grocery store very often? In this case, we finally managed to finish off the last of the Kit Kats from last Halloween. You'll notice the topping looks a little like Butterfinger. It's not, but some of our Kit Kats were the orange colored (not flavored) kind.

These are sweet! The chocolate/sweetened condensed milk layer is very rich (we used milk chocolate chips), and super thick. I think if we made it again, I would try something with some salt in the crust. The vanilla wafers were fine, but they blended in with everything else. Something salty would have a bit more contrast--maybe Ritz crackers? Not sure. I would definitely recommend the recipe, especially if you are stuck at home with extra Halloween candy to use. 😉
