Bacon and Fritos. You knew you had to check out what a title like that might lead to didn't you?
Well the bacon and Fritos weren't together in the same recipe, but they were part of the same meal. Maybe a bacon and Frito recipe will be forthcoming, because why not?
We started with Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza. I've thrown one together before, but this time, I decided to loosely follow this recipe. I really liked the sauce combination (where I subbed finely diced pickles for relish), and the way it made the whole pizza taste more burger-like. This pizza turned out so delicious, a perfect fit for a fall Friday night.
We finished our meal with Peanut Butter Frito Cookies. As soon as I saw this recipe, I was looking forward to the idea of sweet and salty together. As someone who generally prefers salty snacks, I love sweet snacks that bring a little balance with salty touches. As salty as Fritos generally are, that didn't come through a lot in these cookies. I still really liked these cookies, if for no other reason than they are different from your average cookie.
