Simple is GOOD


I have seen variations on this Apple Dumplings recipe in a lot of places.  Tonight I was suddenly seized by the need to try it.

Am I ever glad I did!  These are yummy, and you totally can not even tell they start with crescent rolls.  The lovely, sugary crust is delicious and the caramel sauce is gooey and fantastic.  I chose to use Mountain Dew instead of Sprite--I had that on hand and several other variations use it.  I don't think it really matters in the end flavor.  A little Double Salted Caramel custard from Culver's was also the perfect a la mode.

This is such a simple dessert that tastes like so much more than the ingredients that are in it.  Highly recommended by everyone at my table!
