Today's recipe is another familiar idea in a new way. I love the fresh flavors of Caprese, and, of course, mac & cheese is always a hit in my book. I didn't have to think twice about trying this Caprese Mac and Cheese.
This is a pretty simple recipe--a white sauce, add fresh mozzarella and voila! Here's what happened in my version of the recipe:
- Skim milk (that's all we keep on hand)
- Fat free half-and-half
- Onion powder for extra flavor.
- Plenty of salt (and pepper if you like it.)
- Cherry tomatoes rather than Roma.
Hubby and daughter preferred this recipe sans tomatoes and basil. I loved it with. I recommend making this simple, easy recipe and deciding for yourselves!
