Mmmmmm Bread


In the central Illinois area, there is nothing so famous or loved as Avanti's homemade sweet bread. It's the delicious side you fill up on before your pasta comes and the secret to the famous Gondola.

I've always wanted to make this bread and Monday menu and time presented the opportunity. On my first perusal of local cookbooks I found the recipe, complete with bread machine instructions. Perfect.

As my recipe notes show, a little extra flour is needed but that's it. Enjoy!
