These are absolutely crazy times we are living in aren't they? I'm strategizing grocery store trips as to when they will be best stocked, and cooking nearly every meal at home. Thank you, COVID-19.
Out of all that cooking has come some good recipes (and I'm hoping for more in the coming days, provided the store has the necessary ingredients). This Crazy Crust Pizza is one such example. It is not your traditional pizza crust--which is, of course, what makes it crazy. I won't pretend that this is the same as regular pizza crust, but if you don't like dealing in yeast dough or don't have the means to make any, this will create a yummy pizza without it. It's pretty amazing how the bottom dough puffs up and gets nice and bubbly.
I loved this combination of toppings, and I think I'll remember that for the future. Also, imagine Italian nachos with the sausage/pepperoni/ham combo. All kinds of yum that would be!
This isn't a super fast pizza, but the total cooking and prep time is probably less than if you made your own dough and topped it. The other benefit of this method is that it sits a little lighter in your stomach, important if you don't love filling up on the bread of traditional crust. (And if that's you, who are you and how are we friends?😉
I recommend giving this Crazy Crust a try in these crazy times. Customize it with your toppings, and have a little fun with the family in creating a fun dish.
