Sometimes there are recipes that need to be made, simply to see if they turn out. This Crunchy Taco Ring is totally in that category. It has the fun little video that shows you all the steps, and the end looks really fancy. Count. me. in.
Thankfully, it pretty much lives up to the hype. There's quite a lot of tortilla business going on, and that you probably don't need, but otherwise it's super tasty. It's all the best things to love about a taco layered on top of itself. Bravo!
I chose to make mine sans jalapeno, no surprise there, and otherwise follow the instructions. It took a little bit of prep time to get it all assembled, all easy things, just time consuming. A suggestion if you want the chips in the middle to stay crunchy, choose a very hearty chip, maybe even Fritos.
Everyone at my table was happy with their portion, and probably would have eaten more had a band concert not been calling our name.
