Fruit on Friday should be different. Special. Fruit on Friday should be pie. And it was.
In reality, I noticed that it is nearly strawberry season this year, and I haven't yet used all my berries in the freezer from last year. Oops!
So, to Pinterest I went in search of what I'm sure is one of many strawberry recipes, including this Regina's Famous Strawberry Pie. I barely had enough time to get everything done because I started kind of late, but setting the strawberries on the patio table to thaw, and then putting the gelatin mixture in the freezer for a little while, made it all work.
The result was scrumptious. Although my little one announced she still likes apple pie better, she did give it her seal of approval.
