The beauty of family dinners, at least in my family, is that you don't have to make everything. This year, I brought the salad.
I love bleu cheese, but in my own house it is definitely under-appreciated. So, if I want to make enjoy some bleu cheese once in a while, I have to use it in dishes that are shared outside our house. I especially liked the idea that this salad is the original blogger's most requested.
This salad is the perfect combination of sweet and salty. I used toasted pecans, the packaged real bacon bits, a gala apple, dried cranberries, and Gorgonzola. The dressing is super thick, but the perfect complement to all the flavors going on. It may even be reason enough to bring the salad again.
