Sometimes You Have to Break the Rules


There is little about today's recipe that conforms to anybody's standards of nutrition.  Sometimes, though, you just need to throw caution to the wind and eat something delicious.

Bacon Stuffed French Toast.  The very name tells you it's going to be sooooooooo good.

I only made half a recipe--that was eight slices of bread (four french toast sandwiches).  These are filling and super rich so one per person is more than enough.  I chose to use regular bacon rather than maple flavored.  It's what we normally prefer, plus I wasn't sure just how much maple I could take in one meal.

These might be a little much for your ordinary everyday breakfast.  They were, however, excellent for dinner and would be perfect for special occasion breakfasts and brunches.
