For Mother's Day I received this:
We had heard good things from friends about the Kitchen Aid ice cream maker attachment, and tonight we finally managed to try it for ourselves.
For for Father's Day we made this: Easy Chocolate Ice Cream from a Country's Best cookbook.
It was simple to mix up and dump into the bowl--a quick start. We let the mixer go for about 30 minutes then put the whole thing back in the freezer for about 30 minutes. It was still quite soupy, but I think it may be because we brought home the half and half and cream from the store and immediately mixed them up. They probably didn't have enough time cooling again in the refrigerator. We also didn't let it sit long enough in the freezer. We just couldn't wait!
We shared our ice cream with neighbors, and they announced it tasted like brownies. It was rich and chocolatey. The cocoa I used was dark cocoa so that might have had something to do with the deep chocolatey flavor. Mexican vanilla always an extra richness, too.
Can't wait to try vanilla!
