Comparing

There's really no way to go wrong when it comes to brownies, marshmallows, and peanut butter. However, without realizing it, I've ended up trying two different recipes that end up with basically the same thing--brownie layer on the bottom, marshmallow layer in the middle, chocolate/peanut butter/rice krispie layer on top. A couple of years ago I tried this recipe for Chocolate Crunch Brownies from a Country cookbook. This has an absolutely wonderful brownie layer that I've since used in a number of other recipes. It's THAT good.
Today, I tried this recipe for Brownie Mallow Bars from an old Quick Cooking magazine. These are very good. But as much as I love a good boxed mix brownie, the homemade ones in the brownie recipe above make all the difference.
