Mom is the one who taught me to cook. Dutifully she also tried to teach me to sew and to crochet, but cooking is the only thing that stuck. I've learned very well her technique for taking a recipe and changing things up on the fly to really take ownership. Her baked goods were always the talk of the town, even if she did some times add odd ingredients to the homemade bread.So, Happy Mother's Day and Thanks, Mom, for sticking with the cooking lessons, for making all the meals you've made over the years, and for taking such great care of all of us!
